TFHN - Daniel Ronel, Oct. 13
Longsview, OR • One small step for Ronel, one giant leap for Ronelkind.
About a week ago, I released an article regarding the rivalries that the YGFHL smartly highlighted to kick off the season.
Now, I don't like putting the cart before the horse — because my predictions are always wrong — but I think I'll do exactly that. I'm calling for a close Grand Rapids victory over the Sharvit squad (I'm bringing it back!), in which we see Filip Forsberg put on an absolute clinic. The top two ranked teams will clash in Guelph, but I'm calling for an underdog win! Carey Price will prove why he is the best player in the world and carry the Jugs like he does best. As for the newbie match, Loui Eriksson will prove me wrong for calling him "more useless than training wheels on a yatch," scoring a hat trick and putting the match to bed.
Now, as I stated in the Power Rankings, Loui Eriksson did not score a hat trick, and Filip Forsberg was traded to Portland before the matches began. However, he did put on quite a clinic, while Carey Price proved why he is a force to be reckoned with, leading the Jugs to victory. The Hamilton-GR game was a thriller, with the Goats pulling off another epic comeback win. Austin pulled together and scored the second most points that week, defeating the Majors.
Let me be clear that the understatement of the year would be something along the lines of, "Daniel Ronel is not good at making predictions." His two recent Pro•Line tickets are case in point.
Regardless, he called it right this time. Hopefully I can keep the hot streak going when I say Portland beats Hamilton, Austin beats Grand Rapids, and Guelph beats Markham. ∆
